Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care is looking to add
Veterinary Assistants to our ER and Critical Care team! Veterinary
Emergency and Critical Care is the only 24/7 animal hospital in Las
Vegas with access to specialties in surgery, cardiology, internal
medicine, ophthalmology, neurology, oncology and rehabilitation. We

primary role of the Veterinary Assistant is to provide excellent
care to the patients of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care
hospital of Las Vegas as well as assist the veterinarian and
veterinarian technician with all duties. How you'll make a
difference: Perform all essential duties of a Veterinary Assistant
Monitor and appropriately document patient vital signs and activity
Provide support to all veterinarians and veterinary technicians,
often assisting more than one on your shift Provide diagnostic,
surgical and nursing care to all patients Perform basic, emergent,
and critical care monitoring Obtain and prepare samples for
diagnostic testing including but not limited to blood draws,
arterial blood gas sampling, cystocentesis, urinary catheter
sampling and free catch urine Perform various laboratory procedures
including but not limited to blood typing, cross matching, and
slide agglutination testing Accurately take and process abdominal,
thoracic, appendicular, spinal, and skull radiographs while
following appropriate radiation safety protocols Properly use and
maintain medical equipment Provide professional client
communication Helps keep hospital areas clean and neat, maintain a
safe and clean work environment Maintains client and patient
confidentiality Meet or exceed performance standards for work
quality and productivity Meet or exceed VECC expectations for
attendance and punctuality Act as an ambassador of VECC at all
times, displaying consideration, courtesy, compassion, and
professionalism What you'll bring: Experience working as a
Veterinary Assistant in ER hospital setting or those with 2+ years
general practice experience Ability to work in a highly
collaborative environment and commitment to develop long term
relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community we serve
Reliable, organized, and committed to provide high level care to
our patients and clients A craving for lifelong learning and
continuous improvements Excellent communication and organizational
skills are required, and the ability to deliver exceptional client
service is expected Honesty, integrity, and a desire to have fun!
Schedule: Full-time position, overnight schedule Thur Sun. We are
